When our client in Pennington approached us about renovating their en-suite, their vision was clear: they wanted to create a bathroom that felt like a private boutique hotel retreat — luxurious, spacious, and beautifully finished. The aim was to transform a standard en-suite into a calming space where they could start and end each day in comfort, with a design that balanced practicality and elegance.

To achieve this hotel-style atmosphere, we focused on carefully layering texture, space, and thoughtful design details. Textured tiles in wood and stone effects were selected to introduce warmth and depth to the room. The combination of natural wood tones with softer stone textures created a sophisticated contrast that adds visual interest without overwhelming the space. These materials helped establish a calm, refined aesthetic that feels both modern and timeless.

The shower area was designed to feel open yet defined within the room. A low-profile shower tray was installed and enclosed with three-quarter height tiled walls, which subtly separate the shower from the rest of the space while maintaining an airy and spacious feel. This layout enhances privacy while still allowing natural light and sightlines to flow across the room. The toilet was positioned in a comfortable and well-balanced area, ensuring easy movement throughout the bathroom and contributing to the overall sense of space.

The floor plays an important role in anchoring the design. Geometric patterned tiles were chosen to bring a subtle design statement to the room. While elegant and understated, the pattern adds personality and gently draws the eye, complementing the more neutral tones used throughout the walls and fixtures.

Storage was another important consideration. A large Roca vanity unit with two generous drawers was installed to keep everyday items organised and easily accessible. The wide basin area provides plenty of surface space, while the drawer system allows toiletries and essentials to be neatly stored away, helping the room remain uncluttered and calm. Sleek brushed chrome brassware completes the design, adding a contemporary finish that pairs beautifully with the natural tile palette.

Behind the finished appearance lies a significant technical transformation. We began by completely removing all existing sanitaryware and stripping the room back to create a clean foundation for the new layout. From there, new plumbing and electrical systems were installed to support the redesigned space. Stud walls were constructed to define the shower enclosure and optimise the flow of the room, and the entire space was fully re-plastered to ensure a flawless base for the finishes.

Precision tiling was then carried out throughout the room, followed by the installation of the new sanitaryware and brassware. Every stage of the project was carefully managed to ensure the final result was not only visually striking but also durable and built to last.

The finished en-suite renovation in Pennington now feels like stepping into a boutique hotel suite every day. The room feels larger, calmer, and beautifully balanced, offering both practical storage and luxurious comfort.
