When our client in New Milton approached us about renovating their primary en-suite, they had a clear vision in mind: to create a practical, easy-to-use bathroom with a generous showering area, simple accessibility, and plenty of well-designed storage. They wanted a space that felt calm, modern, and built to last, where every feature served a purpose without compromising on style.

From the very first consultation, every detail was carefully discussed to ensure the finished bathroom reflected exactly how our client wanted to use the space. We worked closely with The Bath Works to source high-quality products, placing just as much emphasis on durability and reliability as we did on aesthetics. The result is an en-suite that not only looks beautiful but will continue to perform exceptionally well for years to come.

The shower area became the centrepiece of the new design. We installed low-maintenance shower wall panels, providing a sleek, contemporary finish while removing the need to maintain grout lines. A large shower screen with a deflector panel creates a spacious, open feel, while a mirrored shower niche reflects light around the room and provides practical storage for everyday toiletries.

To enhance the showering experience, we fitted both a rainfall shower head and a handheld shower, with the controls thoughtfully positioned away from the water flow. This allows the shower to be switched on and adjusted before stepping inside, eliminating the familiar shock of cold water and making everyday use that little bit more comfortable.

Practicality was considered throughout the design. A heated towel rail was positioned at the end of the shower so warm towels are always within easy reach. Wall-to-wall fitted furniture provides generous storage for toiletries and everyday essentials, helping to keep the room organised and clutter-free. A back-to-wall WC maintains clean, uninterrupted lines, while the basin features a swivel spout tap chosen specifically by the client so it can be moved aside comfortably when washing their face.

Additional storage comes from a mirrored wall cabinet, providing both a practical everyday mirror and a discreet place to keep personal items hidden from view. To complete the overall look, we installed Blanco half-height white tiles with white grout, creating a seamless finish that pairs beautifully with the freshly plastered walls above. The combination keeps the room feeling bright, spacious, and timeless.

Although the finished result appears effortless, a significant amount of preparation took place behind the scenes. Before any work began, we carefully protected the adjoining bedroom, covering furniture, beds, and flooring to minimise disruption throughout the renovation. The existing bathroom suite was then completely stripped out, with all old tiling removed back to the bare walls.

We reorganised and renewed the plumbing throughout the room, including completely redesigning the bath drainage. The original installation included four separate bends, which had caused poor drainage over time. By reducing this to a single bend, we significantly improved water flow and created a much more efficient system.

With the infrastructure complete, we created space for the recessed niche, towel radiator, and concealed shower valve pipework before carrying out fresh plastering, precision tiling, and the installation of the shower panels and fitted furniture. Every stage was completed with meticulous attention to detail to ensure a flawless finish.

Our client was overwhelmed by the transformation and couldn’t wait to start enjoying their new en-suite. The finished result is a beautiful, practical space that has been designed to last for many years to come.
