When we first met our clients in Barton on Sea, they didn’t arrive with a list of colours, taps or tiles. Instead, they talked about how they used their bathroom every day, what frustrated them about the existing layout, and how they wanted the space to feel.

Rather than designing a bathroom around the latest trends, we believe every installation should reflect the people who use it. A bathroom should make everyday life easier, more comfortable, and more enjoyable—not ask you to adapt to a layout that doesn’t suit your routine.

In this particular project, the homeowners explained that they rarely used the shower. Bathing was an important part of their daily routine, so the existing shower enclosure had become wasted space. Storage was limited, the basin felt cramped, and the room simply wasn’t working for the way they lived.

Instead of simply replacing old fittings with new ones, we completely rethought the layout.

The finished design centres around a full-length bath with centrally positioned taps, allowing comfortable bathing from either end. A discreet handheld shower provides the practicality they needed for washing their hair while maintaining the clean, uncluttered appearance they wanted.

We also reconfigured the furniture into an L-shaped layout, creating more space around the basin and WC while significantly increasing storage. A mirrored cabinet keeps everyday essentials close to hand but neatly out of sight, helping the room feel calm, organised, and practical.

One of our favourite features is the timeless colour palette. Deep navy fitted furniture contrasts beautifully with brushed brass brassware, large-format marble-effect porcelain tiles, and crisp white sanitaryware. The result is a luxury bathroom that feels elegant without relying on passing trends—one that’s designed to look just as impressive in years to come.

As with every bathroom installation, much of the most important work happens behind the scenes. Before work began, we carefully protected the client’s recently laid timber flooring and surrounding rooms. We renewed the plumbing, resolved existing drainage issues, completed the electrical alterations for the mirrored cabinet, and fully tiled the room to the ceiling using colour-matched grout to create a seamless finish.

Even the smallest details were tailored to the homeowners’ preferences, including the position of the cabinet handles, creating a bathroom that feels genuinely bespoke rather than simply fitted.

To complete the room, we installed luxury vinyl flooring (LVT), providing a durable, warm, and comfortable finish that’s ideal for everyday family life.

The finished bathroom isn’t simply a collection of quality products. It’s a space that’s been carefully planned around the people who use it every day.
