When our client in Milford on Sea came to us, they wanted to create a guest shower room that felt both luxurious and practical — a calm, refined space with standout design, smart storage, and absolutely no compromise on quality. The aim was to transform a compact room into something that felt elevated and welcoming, while still being durable enough to stand up to everyday use.

As with many bathroom renovations, the project began with a full strip-out. Once we removed the existing fixtures, we uncovered an unexpected issue: the shower tray had been installed on expanding foam, which meant the room needed more extensive remedial work before the new design could begin. To ensure the finished result would be robust and long-lasting, we stripped everything back properly, removed the shower walls, upgraded the pipework and electrics, installed moisture-resistant plasterboards, and replaced the flooring to create a solid, reliable foundation.

With the preparation complete, we could focus on bringing the design vision to life. The client wanted a room with personality as well as practicality, so we introduced teal metro tiles with warm rust undertones, creating a rich, inviting colour palette that instantly gives the room depth and character. These tones were paired with herringbone-style vinyl flooring, adding texture and subtle pattern while offering a practical, easy-to-maintain surface.

To elevate the overall look, we used brushed brass trims and fittings throughout, bringing warmth and a high-end finish to the space. The shower area was designed to feel as open and seamless as possible, with a large glass panel and minimal step entry, making the room feel bigger while improving accessibility and ease of use. A dual handset shower adds flexibility, and an integrated recessed niche keeps shower products neatly stored without cluttering the space.

Storage was a major part of the design. We installed bespoke fitted vanity and WC units by Calypso, giving the room a tailored, cohesive feel while ensuring there was plenty of concealed storage. A built-in toilet roll holder was also incorporated into the design, removing the need for loose accessories and helping maintain the clean, streamlined finish. The basin itself was carefully chosen, with a gently curved profile complemented by brass waste and overflow details that tie beautifully into the rest of the brassware.

To complete the room, we fitted a demisting mirror with adjustable colour lighting, allowing the space to shift easily from bright and practical to softer and more ambient. It’s a finishing touch that enhances both convenience and atmosphere, helping the room feel even more polished.
