When our clients in Lymington contacted us, they were experiencing ongoing issues with their wet room shower. What should have been a sleek, modern feature had developed underlying problems that were affecting both performance and reliability. Rather than carrying out a full renovation, the goal was to carefully resolve the problem areas while preserving the overall design of the room. After assessing the wet room, it became clear that the original installation needed significant correction. The design solution involved removing the existing floor and shower partition so we could rebuild the structure properly and create a more robust system that prevented future water ingress.

One of the key improvements was the construction of a new partial wall between the bath and shower. This wall helps define the wet room area more effectively and supports the glass partition while improving the overall flow of the space.

To achieve this, we constructed the new partition using tanalised structural timber combined with cement backer boards, providing excellent strength and moisture resistance. This created a solid, reliable base for the waterproofing system and ensured long-term durability in a high-moisture environment.

The new wall was then clad with Nuance shower boards, a fully waterproof panel system designed to eliminate grout lines and significantly reduce maintenance. These panels provide a seamless finish while offering excellent protection against moisture — an ideal solution for wet room installations.

Within the shower wall, we installed a Crosswater stainless steel recessed niche, providing convenient storage for shampoo and shower products without cluttering the floor area. The recessed design maintains the clean lines of the shower while adding practical functionality.

The wet room floor was then completely retiled using a geometric layout that carefully directs water towards the drain. Achieving the correct falls is essential in any wet room installation, as it prevents standing water and ensures the shower performs as intended. Particular attention was given to both the aesthetics and the technical precision of the tiling.

Once the main installation was complete, we reinstated the glass shower partition and bath controls to integrate seamlessly with the newly rebuilt shower area. The final stage involved a thorough clean-down of the space, full system checks, and professional re-siliconing throughout to ensure a watertight and polished finish.
